‘Khatami, Rafsanjani unlikely to run for president’

TEHRAN,Feb.4(MNA) – Hassan Rohani, the director of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council, said on Sunday that it was unlikely that former president Mohammad Khatami and Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani would run in the next presidential election, which is scheduled to be held on June 14. “Considering the current situation, it is a remote possibility that Khatami will stand as a candidate,” he said.
