Bokeo and Chiang Rai enhance cooperation on bird flu prevention
(KPL) Representatives of Bokeo province, northern Laos, and Chiang Rai province of northern Thailand held a seminar last week in the Lao province on the cooperation on the prevention of H5N1 infection from poultry to human beings.
The event was co-chaired by Dr Nouchanh Visuthiphan, Deputy Head of Public Health Service of Bokeo province, and Mr Sommath Menchith, Director of Chiang Rai Hospital. Health staff of the two provinces were present at the event.
Both sides exchanged lessons on bird flu prevention and infection to human beings between health and relevant officials, the cooperation between officials to ensure prompt reporting on bird flu outbreak and its prevention.
They also discussed ways of providing prompt medical help to H5N1-infected
patients.
