Jakarta pays no heed to Iran oil sanction: Indonesian ambassador

TEHRAN,Feb.13(MNA) – Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Dian Wirengjurit said Jakarta pays no attention to sanctions imposed on the Iranian oil sector, saying it will have no effect on Indonesia’s oil purchase from Iran. Indonesia is in short of 600,000 barrels of oil per day and it imports oil from other countries such as Iran to meet its needs, he said. Ambassador Wirengjurit emphasized that Jakarta doesn’t recognize unilateral sanctions against Iran. However, he said the Indonesian private sector, which is involved in oil business, doesn’t have authentic information in this regard. He added that the main activities of the Indonesian Embassy are helping bolster economic relations with Iran and make it easy for people of both countries to travel to each other’s countries. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Iran is a developed country in terms of infrastructure to the extent that there is potable water, electricity and gas in most parts of the country. The Indonesian ambassador also called on Iranians to invest in his country. I
