Iran Warns Against Expansion Of Poverty In The World

New York, Feb 13, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to the United Nations Gholamhossein Dehghani warned against rise of class differences and spread of poverty in the world. He also said economic crisis in the world is one of the main obstacles of social development of the countries. Dehghani, who was speaking in a meeting of UN Social Development Commission on Tuesday, said according to the reports released by international organizations, over 850 million people in the world, especially people from developing countries, are suffering from lack of food security. Referring to the UN secretary general reports during the past 4 years on economic crisis and increase in the price of foodstuffs and fuel in the world, Dehghani said the existing conditions have harmed the programs against poverty and hurt vulnerable classes.
