Thai PM holds bilateral meeting with new South Korean President

SEOUL, Feb 25 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Monday held a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Seoul. They agreed to develop women’s roles in the region. Ms Yingluck attended the swearing-in of South Korean President Park Geun-hye at 2pm local time Monday. Then she went to the office of the South Korean president to hold the bilateral talk with Ms Park Guen-hye. It was the first official activity of the new South Korean president. In the meeting Ms Yingluck congratulated Ms Park Geun-hye for her position and discussed cooperation on the development of women’s roles in the region. Ms Yingluck also promised to maintain strategic cooperation between both countries and support for South Korean investment in Thailand. On the occasion, the Thai prime minister invited the South Korean president to the Asia-Pacific Water Summit that Thailand will organise in May 2013 as South Korea succeeds in water management. Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) is a qualified contender for water management and flood prevention projects in Thailand. At 3pm local time, Ms Yingluck and her delegation left Incheon airport in Seoul for Hong Kong and that concluded her official visit to the Republic of Korea. (TNA)
