Bt200m pirated goods destroyed in Phuket

PHUKET, February 28 (TNA) - Thai authorities on Thursday destroyed over 94,000 items of pirated goods, worth more than 200 million baht, in the country's southern resort Phuket province. The Thai authorities, including Intellectual Property Department Director-General Pachima Tanasanti, Assistant National Police Chief Police Lieutenant General Chakthip Chaichinda and Phuket Governor Maitri Intusut, jointly disposed the 94,120 counterfeit items, totally worth some 216 million baht, at a garbage disposal site in the Nakhon Phuket Municipality. The seized pirated products include clothes, watches, bags. They were set ablaze amid eyewitnesses from relevant parties, namely police and companies owning the patented goods. (TNA)
