First medical smartphone to be presented in Azerbaijan

Baku, February 28 (AzerTAc). A leading Israeli company in mobile medical technology, Life Watch Technologies, will introduce a new medical smartphone model in Azerbaijan in second quarter of 2013, Alex Kaplun, co-founder of the Azerbaijani-Israeli Chamber of Commerce reported. An agreement on this occasion was singed between Azerbaijan`s Mobilel and Israel`s Lifewaich companies during the GSMA Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2013 on February 27. The new model, called the "Life Watch" is both a normal smartphone, and a kind of medical device, that is, medical direction software is added to the smartphone. Smartphone user can measure temperature, ECG, blood sugar level, the level of fat, and others, the president of the company said. The menu also includes phone applications for the sports program, diet program and a program that monitor changes in the body of the user, he said. All medical records of such smartphones' users are stored on its server. Menu of the first phones will be in English, but menu in Russian and Azeri will be added in the future. Price of the smartphones will be about 600-700 manats. The GSMA Mobile World Congress is a combination of the world`s largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a conference featuring prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world. Azerbaijan will be the first country to introduce buyers` the medical smarthphones, then followed by the US, Germany, Spain, Turkey and other countries.
