MALAYSIA CONDEMNS U.S. AIR ATTACK ON SYRIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Thursday expressed "deep shock" and condemned Sunday's United States air strike on Syria close to the border with Iraq which claimed the lives of eight Syrian civilians.
Foreign Minister Dr Rais Yatim said the air strike, in a Syrian village,
"clearly violates Syria's national sovereignty and it is unacceptable
in any circumstance".
He said in a statement that the attack on a civilian target demonstrated
the need for the international community to uphold the sanctity of a country's
national sovereignty.
Official Syrian media had reported that American helicopter-borne troops
launched an assault on Sunday on a building in a Syrian village along the border
with Iraq, killing eight civilians.
