Iran to launch first advanced telecom satellite in 5 years

TEHRAN,March 5(MNA) – Iran plans to launch its first advanced telecommunications satellite into space in the next five years, Iran Space Agency Director Hamid Fazeli said in Tehran on Sunday. The Qa’em satellite, which will have 12 transponders and will weigh more than one ton, will be placed in geostationary orbit above Iran in the next five years, he added.
