Pakistani Scholar Asks West: Quit Double-standard Policy On Iran N-case
Islamabad, March 7, IRNA – A prominent Pakistani religious scholar here Wednesday asked West to quit policy of double-standards and respect Iran’s right for its peaceful nuclear program.
Talking to IRNA, patron in chief of Imam Khomeini Trust (IKT) Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi said that Iran, being an independent state has the right to acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
“Developing a peaceful nuclear program is the right of any country in the world, if the western countries can develop nuclear energy then why they are objecting on the nuclear programs of Muslim countries,” he said.
Managing Director of ‘Such TV’ also said that the West should accept Iran’s right to nuclear technology without any ill-will.
Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi added that Iran has always played a constructive role for peace and stability of the world. He asked all peace loving nations to support Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology said that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has issued a fatwa (religious decree) on the prohibition of nuclear weapons. “The religious decree clearly shows that Iran has no intention of making nuclear weapons,” said the religious scholar.
“Iran’s stance over nuclear program is clear,” he said. Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi went on to say that there is no justification to doubt over peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
