Former Iranian weightlifter Hafez Hassani dies

TEHRAN,March 17(MNA) – Asian Games medal winner Hafez Hassani died at age of 65 on Friday. The super heavyweight weightlifter won the three medals in the 1974 Asian Games held in Tehran. Hassani claimed the bronze medal in snatch, gold medal in clean and jerk, and silver medal in total in the games. The weightlifter died due to chronic kidney diseases in Tehran’s Erfan Hospital on Friday. The Tehran Times staff offers its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
