Official: Self-sufficiency In Cement Output Among Govˈt Achievements

Tehran, April 13, IRNA – Self-sufficiency in meeting the countryˈs need to cement and increasing cement output to above 70m tons is an important achievement of the ninth and tenth governments, a senior Iranian official said. ˈExtensive efforts have taken place in mineral industries section in the ninth and tenth governments and in the fields of tile, ceramic, chinaware and glass products we have acted quite well,ˈ Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade Minister for mines and mineral industries affairs Vajihollah Jaffari said, addressing a meeting in the Central province of Semnan on Thursday. He noted that in exports sector, mineral industries have allocated an important share so that 30 percent of industrial and mineral exports are related to mineral industriesˈ products. Jaffari was among the delegation accompanying President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during in the first leg of his fourth provincial tour to Semnan province. The 101th provincial visit of President Ahmadinejad and his accompanying delegation, including ministers and deputy ministers, was to Semnan province on Thursday./end
