Iranian lifter Dehghan wins gold in Youth World Championships

TEHRAN,April 13(MNA)-- Alireza Dehghan of Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2013 IWF Youth Weightlifting Championships, which is underway in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Iranian lifted 146 in snatch and 173kg in clean and jerk. Dehghan won the gold medal in total lift with an effort of 319kg. Yixiong Cheng finished in second place by lifting 145kg in snatch and 167kg in clean and jerk. The Chinese lifter won the silver medal with a total of 312kg. Alexander Matjushin from Russia claimed the bronze medal with a total of 303kg. He lifted 137kg in snatch and 166kg in clean and jerk. The competition has brought 446 weightlifters from 52 countries together in Tashkent.
