Iran keen to expand ties with Vietnam: Iranian FM

TEHRAN,April 15(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran is keen to expand its relations with Vietnam. Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Asia and African Affairs Negoavn Fung Nega in Tehran on Saturday. He also called for easing regulations in order to help facilitate bilateral trade between the two countries. In addition, he expressed hope that the meetings of the Iran-Vietnam joint economic committee would result in increased cooperation between Tehran and Hanoi. Commenting on political relations between the two countries, Salehi said that Iran and Vietnam had close cooperation at international organizations and praised Vietnam for adopting a positive stance toward Iran in regard to the issue of human rights. The Vietnamese official also called for increasing bilateral relations in view of the fact that the two countries have high economic potential.
