Iranian films line up for Geneva festival

TEHRAN,Apri 16(MNA) -- Iranian films are competing at the 8th International Oriental Film of Geneva (FIFOG), which is currently being held in several cities in Switzerland and France. Six short films and a feature film from Iran will be screened during the festival in Geneva, Versoix, Lausanne and Gex. Among the short films are “Under the Colors” directed by Esmaeil Monsef, “The Longest Journey around the World” by Mohammad Moqaddam and “The Apple” by Mozaffar and Ramin Sheidaii. Other short films include “Return” by Vajihollah Fard-Moqaddam, “The Farmer and the Cow” by Fatemeh Gudarzi, “The Farmer and the Robot” by Abdollah Alimoradi. The feature film “Daughter… Father… Daughter” by Panahbarkhoda Rezaii is also competing in the festival, which runs until April 21. The film poetically traces the solitary existence of three sisters living in the traditional central western region of Iran, where the occasional travelling salesman serves as a distraction from the general monotony.
