Syrian ambassador hails Iran’s support

TEHRAN,April 17(MNA) – The Syrian ambassador to Iran hailed the Islamic Republic’s stance toward the crisis that has gripped the Arab country for over two years. “We are proud of the role of the young people of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defending justice-seeking… nations,” Adnan Mahmoud said in a speech during a conference held in Qom on Tuesday with the participation of a number of Qom seminary teachers. “Since Syria took a strategic decision to have strong ties with Iran in defense of the axis of resistance in the region, attacks on Syria have increased,” he said. Commenting on the crisis in Syria, Mahmoud said that the Syrian government is seeking to fulfill the demands of the country’s people through implementing reforms in regard to elections and the Constitution.
