Iranian Persepolis veterans lauded

TEHRAN,April 22(MNA) – Persepolis football team veterans were praised in a celebration on Saturday. The 12 players of 1960s and 1970s were awarded the golden statues. At the celebration held in Tehran’s Milad Tower, Veteran players namely, Kazem Rahimi, Homayoon Behzadi, Hossein Kalani, Hadi Tavousi, Biouk Vatankhah, Reza Vatankhah, Ebrahim Ashtiani, Ali Parvin, Feridoon Moeini, Jafar Kashani, Mahmoud Khordbin and Hamid Jasemian have been praised. General Manager of Persepolis arch-rival Esteghlal also attended the celebration. Persepolis is considered as the most successful football club in Iran with the most domestic league titles record in Iranian football with 9 titles as well as 5 domestic cup titles. The Iranian giant has also won an Asian Cup Winners' Cup.
