Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The plenary session of the State Great Khural discussed Thursday the issue of MP and Deputy Speaker S.Bayartsogt's failure of including a secret... Swiss bank account and offshore company in his income declaration. Almost 88 percent, or 56 out of 64 MPs voted for S.Bayartsogt's resignation. M.Batchimeg MP and chair of Ethics sub-committee said the sub-committee had considered April 23 the matter and resolved that Mr Bayartsogt made an ethic mistake by violating article 4.1 of a law on parliamentarian ethics. After the "question-answer" process S.Bayartsogt commented:" In a case of parliamentarian failure to declare some parts of their income, he or she is to take responsibility by having legal notice or a wage cut according to laws, but I think I should be more responsible and to be an example, so I submitted my request to resign from Deputy Speaker's post." He also said he received all criticism and all support, and added:"I want to say again that the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) did not mention that I violated law or laundered money, it only asked whether I reflected the account and company in my income declaration. The bank account and offshore company was created by income of business and before my appointment as the Finance minister and an establishment of Ouy tolgoi contract." Ch.Enkhtuya
