International symposium on disinfection, antiseptics and sterilization kicks off in Baku

Baku, May 3 (AzerTAc). An international symposium entitled “Intrahospital infections, antibiotic resistance, problems of disinfection, antiseptics and sterilization” has started at the Therapeutic Training Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University. The symposium, dedicated to the 90th birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev, was co-organized by the Azerbaijan Medical University, the Azerbaijan Medical Microbiology and Immunology NGO and Turkish DAS - Disinfection Antisepsis and Sterilization Association. Opening the ceremony, rector of the Medical University Ahliman Amiraslanov noted that the two-day event would hear reports on antibiotic resistance, bacterial and parasitic infections, tuberculosis, hepatitis, disinfection, antiseptics and sterilization. The speakers stressed the importance of experience exchange between Azerbaijani and Turkish doctors. “The Azerbaijan Medical University and the Azerbaijan Medical Microbiology and Immunology NGO attach great importance to establishing cooperation with other countries for strengthening the fight against infectious diseases. The symposium will give a push to the development of clinical microbiology and the fight against infectious diseases in the country.”
