Emirates looking to fly Australia-US
The Emirates airline will "quietly" seek federal government approval to fly between
Australia and the US, a senior airline official has told a trade magazine.
The carrier, owned by the government of Dubai, has a serious involvement in
Australia with 49 Emirates flights landing on the east coast each week.
Emirates senior vice president of commercial operations in East Asia and Australia,
Richard Vaughan, said the airline would be approaching negotiations with the
government quietly.
"We would rather have a gentlemanly discussion than make a lot of noise or take
shots in public," Mr Vaughan told Travel Today.
