Araghchi appointed Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman

TEHRAN,May 13(MNA)– Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi appointed his deputy for Asian and Oceanian affairs, Abbas Araghchi, as Foreign Ministry spokesman on Saturday. The appointment came after Ramin Mehmanparast registered as a candidate for the upcoming presidential election on the same day and resigned from his post as the ministry spokesman. Salehi accepted Mehmanparast’s resignation and thanked him for his sincere efforts during his term in office. Araghchi will retain his post as deputy foreign minister.
