Russia's Sukhoi Superjet 100 Already Operating in Indonesia

Moscow, May 13 (Antara) - Russia has delivered Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial aircraft ordered by Indonesian airline Sky Aviation in February. "Sky Aviation is already operating the plane now," Head of the Indonesia-Russia Association Sergey M Shakray said here on Monday. Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Djauhari Oratmangun confirmed Shakray`s statement saying "yes, Sky Aviation has received it." On March 23, 2013 Sukhoi Superjet 100 flight number PK-ECL belonging to Sky Aviation flew for the first time serving the route between Makassar in South Sulawesi and Sorong in Papua carrying 67 passengers in a flight for about two hours. According to the website of the Sukhoi Commercial producer the plane was delivered on February 23 from its plant in Russia to Halim Perdana Kusuma airport in Jakarta. Shakray said the next delivery was expected to be done soon probably at the end of this year. "I am sorry I do not have the detailed data," the head of the Russian Badminton Association who would leave for Jakarta that day said. "I would conduct a badminton diplomacy to Indonesia," he said about his trip. He said while in Indonesia he would meet with the chief of the Indonesian Badminton Association, Gita Wirjawan, who is also a trade minister. Besides commercial planes Russia has also offered small planes fit for Indonesia as an archipelago country, he said.
