Iranian GC to ask certain presidential candidates to submit plans

TEHRAN,May 15(MNA) – The proposal put forward by the Guardian Council which calls on certain presidential candidates to submit their plans has been approved, the council spokesman said on Monday. “Those candidates whose qualifications we are uncertain whether to approve or not will be invited to submit their plans so that we can reach a definite conclusion,” Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei said. According to the Constitution, the Guardian Council, a 12-member body consisting of six law experts and six religious jurists, is tasked with vetting candidates and supervising elections.
