Iran seeks closer ties with Oman

TEHRAN,May 15(MNA) – In a message to Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi emphasized enhancing various aspects of cooperation between the two countries, Oman News Agency reported on Tuesday. The message also called for coordination in regional and international issues of common concern, including the Syrian crisis. The message was received by Ahmed bin Yousef Al Harthy, undersecretary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs. Al Harthy received in his office on Monday Ali Akbar Sibeveih, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting was also attended by Abdullah bin Obaid Al Hina’ei, acting head of the Arab Levant Department.
