Presidential election won’t affect Iran’s nuclear program: Jalili

TEHRAN,May 18(MNA) – Iran would continue its peaceful nuclear program regardless of who would be elected as the country’s new president in June, Euronews quoted Iran’s top nuclear negotiator as saying.
Iran has held several rounds of talks with the P5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) over its nuclear program, the latest of which was held in Istanbul on Wednesday.
“As an active member of the Non-Proliferation treaty we are ready to co-operate with the IAEA, as always, to keep the closest eye on Iran’s nuclear activities,” Saeed Jalili said in an exclusive interview.
He also said, “The Islamic Republic’s military capabilities are so strong that no enemy could hope to pull off an attack of any kind. The Zionist state is at its lowest ebb; it has been defeated in much smaller wars that it started itself.”
