Iran ready to implement industrial projects in Bangladesh: Iranian minister

TEHRAN,May 19(MNA) - Iran is ready to participate in the implementation of industrial projects in Bangladesh, the Iranian industry, mine and trade minister said. Iranian engineers are highly competent in carrying out industrial projects, especially in power generation and supply, as well as water desalination, Mehdi Ghazanfari said in a meeting with Bangladeshi Industries Minister Dilip Barua. Given noticeable experience of Iranian engineers gained in other countries, Bangladesh can benefit from their ability as well, the official added. During the meeting, the two sides welcomed cooperation in the fields of pharmaceutics, ship building, as well as oil, gas and petrochemical industry for developing bilateral relations. Ghazanfari was leading a 31-member Iranian delegation to Dhaka in the two-day 5th Joint Economic Commission meeting, which ended on Friday. During the fiscal 2010-11, Bangladesh exported goods worth $97 million to Iran and imported goods worth $63 million.
