PM satisfies with visit to Japan

BANGKOK, May 25 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Saturday expressed satisfaction on her current visit to Japan, saying it has allowed her to propose investment future plans in Asia in which businessmen from many countries are keen to invest. Speaking during her weekly TV and radio address, Yingluck said investment cooperation among Asian countries would enhance the development of both regional and global economy. Yingluck , who is due to return home Saturday after a four-day visit during which she attended the 19th international conference on “The Future of Asia” and held talks with her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, said several countries have expressed their interest her proposed plans and are willing to promote more cooperation between countries. On her discussions with Abe, Yingluck said talks were focused on bilateral trade and investment, an exchange of cultural and youth programmes. She said she had also invited Japanese businessmen to invest in Myanmar’s Dawei project and several other projects in Thailand. During her visit to Japan, Yingluck also led a Thai delegation which included representatives of some 50 SMEs businesses to meet Japanese SMEs firms to seek more cooperation and improvement for Thai products. Yingluck said their meetings should benefit the development of Thailand’s products, particularly the OTOP (One Tambon One Product). On her inspection of services given to aged people in Japan, Yingluck said there would be an exchange of knowledge on the issue between the two countries in future so that the Thai government would be able to provide a better care to elderly people in the country.
