Iran dismisses reports it has sent troops to Syria

TEHRAN,May 26(MNA) – Iran has not sent and does not intend to send military forces to Syria, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said on Saturday, responding to reports in a number of news websites that claimed Iran had sent troops to Syria. According to the Defense Ministry website, Vahidi said Iran has adopted the “sensible policy” of helping resolve the Syrian crisis through diplomacy and believes that there is no military solution to the crisis.
