Iranian speaker advises Turkey not to pass the buck to Iran over Syrian crisis

TEHRAN,May 27(MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has advised Turkey against leveling false allegations against Iran and Hezbollah over the situation in the crisis-hit Syria. “If your calculations have proven to be wrong after three years, do not place the responsibility on Iran and Hezbollah,” Larijani said, addressing Turkey, at an open session of the Majlis on Sunday. “Such remarks are inappropriate and not based on the realities on the ground,” he added. According to Al Arabiya, 11 Western and Arab nations, as well as Turkey, which constitute the core group of the alliance, issued a statement after the Friends of Syria meeting in Amman on Wednesday, in which they called for an immediate withdrawal of fighters belonging to Hezbollah and Iran from Syria. The alliance described the presence of Iran and Hezbollah in the country as a threat to regional stability.
