Enemies unable to confront the Iranian nation:Iran`s Jalili

TEHRAN,June 11(MNA) – Presidential candidate Saeed Jalili said although the enemies are equipped with sophisticated military arsenal, they are unable to confront the Iranian nation. “They wanted to weaken Iran to the extent that it would be even unable to run itself, but today the Islamic Republic of Iran is recognized as an influential power and Westerners acknowledge this too,” he told a gathering of his supporters in the southern coastal city of Bandar Abbas on Sunday. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said, “Defending the nuclear program is defending the rights of progress, welfare, and independence of the Iranian nation.” “When they faced defeat in this issue (nuclear issue), they resorted to other methods such as threats and sought to impede the Iranian nation’s opportunities,” he added.
