Bangkok named World Best City for four consecutive years

BANGKOK, July 6 (TNA) - The Thai capital of Bangkok has been named the World’s Best City for the fourth consecutive year by tourists and readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, a popular American tourism magazine, said Bangkok Governor Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand Paribatra. Thanking people for helping and making Bangkok the World’s Best City again this year, M.R. Sukhumbhand told a press conference on Friday that the Thai capital received the highest score of all other cities at 90.4 from tourists and readers of the magazine. Bangkok was earlier voted by the magazine the World’s Best City in 2008 and then again from 2010 to 2013, he said. Besides Bangkok, Chiang Mai which is Thailand’s northern capital is also ranked 10th best city by the magazine. Bangkok is chosen as the world’s outstanding city in the world by tourists and readers of the magazine on six categories and characteristics which include sights, culture/arts, restaurants/food, people, shopping and value. M.R. Sukhumbhand said he has been invited to receive the ‘World’s Best City Award 2013’ in New York on July 18. (TNA)
