Two Thai stewardesses injured in plane crash in Francisco

BANGKOK, July 8 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has confirmed that two Thai stewardesses were injured in a crash landing of an Asiana Airlines flight last weekend. Regarding the crash landing in San Francisco, Surapong quoted the Thai consulate-general in Los Angeles as reporting on Monday that the two Thai stewardesses, identified only as Mew and Eve, were sent to Stamford Hospital, with Mew suffering a neck dislocation which is not dangerous and doctors allow visitors to meet her, but Eve being treated in an intensive care unit and visits being prohibited. According to the deputy prime minister, the President of the Thai Association of Northern California has discussed authorization for Eve's treatment with her guardians in Thailand. Regarding bombings in the Bodh Gaya Buddhist site in India's northeastern Bihar State on July 7, the deputy premier said the Thai consulate-general in Kolkata has asked Indian authorities to protect Thai temples, monks and pilgrims who stay near blast sites. The Thai deputy prime minister noted, however, that the explosions were not powerful, as there were only injuries and no one was killed and no Thai people were among those injured. The Thai deputy prime minister acknowledged that Indian authorities have not identified an exact cause of the bombings. (TNA)
