Iran basketball beats Japan in William Jones Cup

TEHRAN, July 13(MNA)--Iran kept its perfect record intact at the William Jones Cup by beating Japan on Thursday.
The Iranian team defeated Japan 60:55 and earned the fifth straight victory in the competitions.
The Persians have already defeated Jordan, Taiwan B, Egypt and South Korea.
Hamed Haddadi scored 27 points for Iran to stand on top of the score sheet. Kosuke Kanamaru was Japan’s top scorer with 13 points.
The 35th edition of the basketball international tournament William Jones Cup began at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City on July 6 and will run until July 14.
The R. William Jones Cup (also known as the Jones Cup) is an international basketball tournament held annually since 1977 in Taipei, Taiwan. It was named after Renato William Jones, a basketball promoter and one of the founders of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
