Singapore Army Chief visits Thailand; Receives top Thai honor

BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) - Singapore army chief Major General Ravinder Singh is visiting Thailand as the guest of the Royal Thai Armed Forces to bolster defense ties and cooperation between the two ASEAN members. Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha led Thai military top brass in officially receiving and welcoming Singh on his arrival in Thailand Thursday. General Prayuth chaired a ceremony to confer the Order of the Crown of Thailand, one of the Kingdom’s highest honors, to Singh to honor his role in enhanceing ties between the two armies. The two army chiefs, then, discussed ways to enhance defense ties between the two countries, including more frequent exchange of visits between military top brass. (TNA)
