Iran’s Mardani wins silver at taekwondo worlds

TEHRAN,July 21(MNA)--Sajjad Mardani claimed a silver medal at in the 2013 World Taekwondo Championships on Saturday. In the men's +87kg, Mardani lost to London Olympics silver medalist, Gabon's Anthony Obame 10-2. Slovenian Ivan Trajkovic and Robelis Despaigne from Cuba took the joint bronze medal. Behnam Asbaghi of Iran had already won a gold medal as well as Hadi Mostan who claimed the silver medal. The 2013 World Taekwondo Championships started July 15 at the exhibition center in Central Mexico's city of Puebla and will run until June 21, with the participation of 872 athletes from 134 countries and regions.
