Thai baht weakens by 0.4%
BANGKOK, July 25 (TNA) - The Thai baht has been weakening by 0.4 per cent over the past two weeks due mainly to a slowdown in the immense Chinese economy, now Thailand's largest export market.
Updated reports said today that China's manufacturing has declined by more than an official estimate, affecting growth prospect of regional economies, including that of the Thai economy.
According to Bloomberg's data, the Thai currency has depreciated the most since July 8, 2013, to 31.07 baht a US dollar, as of this morning in Bangkok.
International business operators, including those in Thailand, are waiting for updated jobs data in the United States for clues on whether the US Federal Reserve would cut economic stimulus measures and on their business direction in the coming months. (TNA)
