Anadolu Agency signs deal with Getty Images

The Anadolu Agency has signed a partnership deal with stock photo agency Getty Images. The deal will see AA photos represented globally by US-based Getty Images, one of the largest photo agencies in the world. The agreement is expected to allow the AA's photo content to have a larger global distribution network, while boosting the agency's recognizability. AA Deputy General Manager Cagatay Culcuoglu said the deal meant a strategic cooperation between the AA and Getty, which would allow the AA to open up its products to world markets. "With this agreement, the Americas and the Far East will benefit from the AA's photos, along with the Middle East, Africa and Europe." Culcuoglu said the AA was capable of servicing photos in regions that many global news agencies could not reach. "Our photojournalists witness unfolding events throughout the globe, and eternalizing them within photo frames. Now, we have taken an important step to offer these photos to the world media. "It's a win-win situation: Getty Images will win, the AA will win, and so will the users of AA photos." - "First class" Ahmet Sel, editor-in-chief of AA Photo & Video, said the agreement was a significant step for the agency's globalization efforts, and would help the AA gain widespread recognition. "The AA is on its way to acquire a truly international identity, and by means of profitable deals, it is positioning itself as a global actor in photojournalism." Georges de Keerle, Getty Images Senior Director of photography for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said he welcomed the deal. "I am very excited at the prospect of seeing the Anadolu Agency represented by Getty Images around the world," he said. "I believe that the Anadolu Agency and Getty Images will benefit greatly from this partnership." "The Anadolu Agency’s photography content is first class and deserves to be seen and used by the media around the world."
