Parties concerned confer on violence in Thai far South

BANGKOK, August 17 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Police General Pracha Promnog called a special meeting with parties concerned at Bangkok's Government House today to discuss solutions to violence in the Thai far South. Those participating in the meeting include Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan, National Security Council (NSC) Secretary-General Lieutenant General Paradorn Pattanatabutr, Director of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) Police Colonel Thawee Sodsong, as well as local Muslim religious leaders and prominent business operators. Saturday's special meeting was held for the first time, after Deputy Premier Pracha was appointed the director of the operations centre for the implementation of policies and strategies for solving problems in the Thai deep South.
