3, 400 families affected by flood in Khartoum benefit from RCA relief aid

Khartoum: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has said 3, 400 families affected by the floods in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, have benefited from the first phase of relief aid.
Huge quantities of sheltering materials have been distributed so far to alleviate the suffering of people there.
The RCA delegation yesterday toured the east Nile locality of Khartoum state, which is the hard hit area by the floods. It assessed and provided the needs from the Sudanese market.
After the tour, the RCA delegation held a coordination meeting attended by the UAE Ambassador to Sudan Hassan Ahmed Suleiman Al Shehhi, Salem Sultan Al Suwaidi, Head of the RCA relief operations team in Sudan and officials of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
The UAE envoy in Sudan said the UAE's move was very fast to help those affected by the floods, citing the fraternal ties between the two peoples. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
