Omani King Not Carrying Any Special Message For Iran – Official

Tehran, Aug 26, IRNA – Spokesman for Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said on Sunday that Omani King Sultan Qaboos was not carrying any message on behalf of a certtain country for Iran. Naqavi Hosseini told IRNA that following talks between the two countries officials, topics of global, regional and mutual concern would be discussed by the two sides. Iran and Oman maintain long-term friendly and peaceful relations in different spheres. In international forums, the two countries share closeviews and vote in each others favor, he added. Naqavi Hosseini said officials of the two countries usually hold bilateral meetings, discussing different issues, one of which possibly being Iran-US relations. He said Omani officials know quite well that the problem with Iran-US relations is not related to Tehran, rather this it the hostile approaches of Washington that have ruined the ties after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He pointed out that the US should stop its hostile approach so that the two sides can sit on the negotiating table and hold talks./end
