Standing Deputy Prime Minister receives new Director General of LXML
(KPL) Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, Standing Deputy Prime Minister received at his office in Vientiane on 10 November a courtesy visit from Mr. Andraw Michelmore, new Director General of Oxiana - Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML).
At the talks, Mr. Somsavat hailed Mr. Andraw Michelmore for his new appointment as director general of LXML in Laos and hoped that he would do his utmost to develop the LXML, especially the copper and gold mining in Sepone.
According to the report from the LXML on October, 2008, the copper and gold production of the LXML has been implemented as the target plan, however, the copper production has reached only 13,000 tons which decreased about 2,500 tone compared to the same previous of last year.The decreasing of copper and gold production was from the heavy rain and closing of factory for repairing.
