PRICE REDUCTION CAMPAIGN TO BE EXTENDED TO MINI MARKETS AND RETAIL SHOPS

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama)-- Starting next week, the price reduction
campaign will be extended to selected mini markets and retail shops in suburban
areas, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister, Shahrir Samad.

He said mini market and retail shop operators had given the nod to reduce
the prices of products following the recent reduction of fuel price in the
country.

"The public is therefore encouraged to compare the prices before and after
the campaign," he said after the launch of the campaign at a Jusco Shopping
complex, here Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Aeon Co (M) Bhd Senior General Manager (Merchandise), Nakata
Mitsuru, said the prices of 970 consumer products in 20 Jusco stores as well as
in five MaxValue supermarkets nationwide, had been reduced between 12 and 30 per
cent.

"The products, among others, comprised home appliances, milk powder, food,
garments and personal care products," he added.
