DP faction meets

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party (DP) met on Monday to discuss bills and draft amendments to be considered at the irregular spring session. About how it had run told the faction head D.Erdenebat on Tuesday. He said the faction heard reports from the Prime Minister and Speaker about reasons of economic situation's worsening and thoroughly analyzed this matter. For many years Mongolia had gone through several economic conditions, now the Democratic party faces a responsibility to maintain a policy on developing the country’s economics based on the latest ideology and in harmony with a present situation, ignoring the previous out-of-date policy, Erdenebat emphasized. "We must urgently discuss this issue. If we keep deal with the economy by old methods, this sphere will face many difficulties again despite a size of the Gross Domestic Product," he stressed. Moreover, he said the time came to get rid of a populism in politics, so the DP wants all Mongolian people, politicians and political parties to understand that "our economy has just come to a new stage of its development, so we will discuss most appropriate measures and will analyze reports from the Ministries". It was not for the bonds of 1,5 billion USD, the economy would have fallen into more severe situation like a dramatic fluctuation of the export and a poor development of the domestic market, he said. According to the Ministry of Finance, the budgetary deficit has reached one trillion MNT so far, which is equal to that of the previous year, but the faction considers that it is necessary to make budget clarifications after a careful analysis, he said. In addition, the faction backed a discussion of the five bills and draft amendments, including a draft amendment to the law on investment, at the irregular spring session, he added.
