Muslim Civilisation Exhibition, '1001 Inventions', Opens In Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- '1001 Inventions', the award-winning global exhibition highlighting 1,000 years of science and technology in Muslim civilisation, is now open at the National Science Centre here until Feb 28, next year. Science Discoveries Sdn Bhd operations director David Oh Seong Keat said Malaysia's selection as the location for the exhibition’s Asian premiere was an important milestone for the country's exhibition industry. In a statement here Friday, he said launching a global success like '1001 Inventions' in Malaysia would also boost the nation’s tourism industry as it was a unique, world-class exhibition. Split into five zones, the exhibition features a diverse range of exhibits, interactive displays and dramatisation and shows how modern inventions, spanning fields such as Engineering, Green Energy, Mathematics, Medicine and Architecture can trace their roots back to Muslim civilisation. Voted the world’s best touring exhibition by the Museum and Heritage Excellence Awards in London in 2011, '1001 Inventions' has received over three million visitors since it opened in London, Turkey, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, Abu Dhabi, Dhahran, Doha and Karlstad. -- BERNAMA
