Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation has completed the biggest relief project for displaced Syrians and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. The Dh75-million project, the biggest of its kind in the region, benefited around one million people affected by the war in Syria. The project was launched during a press conference in Beirut in the presence of Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, director general of the foundation, and a number of Lebanese mass media representatives and foreign correspondents. The foundation is carrying out projects in around 70 countries around the world, irrespective of race, colour or religion. The project was carried out by teams from the foundation over 3 months in co-operation with the UAE Embassy in Lebanon and more than 44 Lebanese civil and social establishments in addition to Lebanese official and security authorities, Al Khouri said. Al Khouri clarified that the foundation launched its huge humanitarian project in favour of displaced Syrians on July 9, adding that 159 Syrian and Palestinians families as well as other needy Lebanese families benefited from the project. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
