ETIHAD CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF AIR SERVICE OPERATIONS IN SINGAPORE

SINGAPORE, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thursday celebrated its first year of operations in Singapore with the launch of a new 'Inspired Service', for premium passengers arriving into and departing from the city-state.

Etihad Airways' regional general manager for Asia Pacific South and
Australasia Cramer Ball said Singapore was a strategic destination in the Asia
Pacific, not just as a high traffic destination for business and leisure
travellers, but also served as a link to boost economic and cultural ties
between Abu Dhabi and it.

"Within just a year, we have witnessed average load factors of 60 percent
and 90 percent during peak travel periods," he said in a statement.

"Our strategy for Singapore is to eventually increase frequency to daily
flights to keep pace with demand," he added.

Etihad currently operates thrice weekly flights from Singapore to Abu Dhabi
and links with many worldwide destinations via the UAE's capital.

The new service features significant enhancement in food and drink
services.
Customers may choose when to eat and drink from either an a la carte or
kitchen menu, which includes a wide choice of top quality beverages, a variety
of food dishes and service with contemporary crockery, glassware and
linen.

A door-to-door limousine chauffeur service for Etihad's premium-class
passengers would be available in Singapore from early next year.
