IRNA Must Safeguard Islamic Republic Aspirations : Min.

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati here on Sunday urged the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) to maintain and safeguard the aspiration of the Islamic Republic system. IRNA, as the official news agency of Iran, should move towards the country’s objectives and not be neutralized, Jannati said during the inauguration ceremony of the new IRNA chief Mohammad Khoddadi. He further stressed the need to be equipped with up-to-date communication technologies and emphasized that IRNA should not be indifferent towards major developments. As to IRNA’s responsibilities, the minister said speedy dissemination of news and information is a major responsibility of this official news agency./end
