Lubna Al Qasimi partakes in round table discussions between UAE and European Parliament

Brussels: Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, is participating in two-day round table discussions between the UAE and the European Parliament in Brussels, on October 1st-2nd. The discussions aim to strengthen the new partnership based on mutual interests and understanding between the two sides. The European Parliament is represented by Member of European Parliament (MEP) Mario David, President of UAE- European Parliament Friendship Group, while the UAE is represented by Suleiman Hamed Salem Al Mazrouei, Head of the UAE Mission to EU and UAE Ambassador to Belgium, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAE University and a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meetings will also tackle ways to bolster relations between the UAE and EU. A permanent EU mission has recently opened in Abu Dhabi in appreciation of the UAE's active regional role. The UAE-European Parliament Friendship Group was also launched to further boost communications between the two parties. The UAE Ambassador to Belgium welcomed the partnership between the two sides, saying, "The setting up of this important partnership with the European Union will help better understanding of the political issues of both sides." – Emirates News Agency, WAM
