M'SIA WANTS SPECIFICALLY-SKILLED VIETNAM WORKERS FOR INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama)-- Malaysia hopes Vietnam could provide
workers with specific skills to cater to the special needs of the industrial
sector in the country.

In a two-day maiden visit to Vietnam beginning Wednesdayay, Foreign Affairs
Minister Rais Yatim said Malaysia hoped Vietnamese workers could adjust with the
local culture and living environment of the country.

In a statement here Thursday, he said Vietnam appreciated the provision of
job opportunities for its 103,338 citizens in Malaysia.

Earlier, Rais discussed bilateral and regional issues which were of
interest to both countries.

During the visit, Rais met several Vietnamese leaders, including President
Nguyen Minh Triet, Senior Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung and Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Pham Gia Khiem.

He said both sides agreed that ASEAN should ensure eastern values were
implanted in the ASEAN Human Rights Charter and that the charter be in line with
the United Nations Human Rights Charter.
