Thailand's CP eyes to be "Kitchen of the world"

BANGKOK, October 26 (TNA) - Charoen Pokphand Public Company Limited (CP), Thailand's largest agro-industrial conglomerate says it is eyeing to become a “kitchen of the world”, as the company has already developed human resources and adopted innovative technologies. Speaking at a special seminar celebrating the 60th anniversary of Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) on Saturday (Oct 26), a CP subsidiary, Dhanin Chearavanont, CP's Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), insisted that his conglomerate will do all possible means to become a “kitchen of the world” through producing animal feed and human food and distribute to the world market. Currently, Dhanin acknowledged, CP produces 30 million tonnes of food to serve global population annually. The CP top executive estimated that the total world population should increase to 8 billion in the future, from 7 billion now, and scarcity of raw materials is likely to occur, but the problem could be solved if innovative technologies were utilized and sources of new raw materials were found.
